Annette O'Toole was raised in Houston the state of Texas. She attended her mom's dance studio. When she was a child, she appeared on TV for her first time, at the age of two. Her mother and she with ten years of dancing and singing lessons prior to that, moved in Los Angeles the entire year around 13 to see if she would be capable of making a living in the showbiz. She got her first job as a professional dancer after only two months on Danny Kaye's show The Danny Kaye Show. She says that she has used her singing and dancing talents in numerous ways. "The discipline you get from these classes is a huge benefit as an actor." O'Toole's acting debut was My Three Sons. This was followed with Gunsmoke. The Mod Squad. and Hawaii Five-O. O'Toole has starred in over 40 shows on television. In spite of her success for her work in TV and films the theater is her main interest. After her six-year stint in Smallville, O'Toole decided to focus on theater and acting, which she'd been doing in the past ten years. She made the trip to New York and her first audition resulted in her being selected for The Sea Gull. She has performed in many off Broadway productions like Adam Rapp's "Kindness", Tracy Letts Man From Nebraska as well as Tennessee Williams A Lovely Sunday for Creve Couer.
