Her achievements when she was a teenager in America (which we call Maureen O'Hara today) would certainly put her in the child-prodigy class. This is a natural quality for a woman of Irish descent, who was surrounded in her early days by talented relatives and parents. Maureen was born in Ranelagh an area in Dublin the capital of Ireland on the 17th of August 1920. Marguerita FitzSimons was a talented contralto. Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer team in Ireland. He also owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer club and a Dublin business. Maureen FitzSimons was the daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons made up this beautiful family. Maureen was a great athlete and was a gruelling athlete in games when she was young. The passion for sports was matched by an unnatural talent for performing. It was evident by her receiving nearly every Feis award for drama or the stage that her country had to offer. In the age of 14, she had been admitted to the Abbey Theater, where her dream was to pursue operatic singing and classical theater.
