Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956, in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father was a teacher as did her mother, who was a homemaker. Michael Dennis Kevin is her older brother. She has three siblings. McCormick was a gifted singer and performer from an early age. She perform shows using puppets to entertain her friends. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she was crowned her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest in the age group of 6. This led to being contacted by an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired whether she wanted to enter the show industry. McCormick had her first significant job when she was cast in the commercial for television that was broadcast in 1964 of Mattels latest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. In the same year, she starred in another commercial that aired on TV for Chatty Cathy's doll. Soon afterward, McCormick was commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse to play the character of the character Wind It up until It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children to play the eldest towheaded daughter in The Brady Bunch. The sitcom featured Florence Henderson and Robert Reed, newlyweds who had an unmarried family. The show lasted for five seasons. McCormick disclosed her story in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that McCormick almost lost her virginity with Barry Williams during the five-year duration in the series. The time was when she was just 16 years old and he was 19. The incident could have occurred, she said but the timing was never right for us.
